Attune with Country Living Before Buying Countryside Property

Sometimes, living near a crowded road or amidst long commercial buildings can make you feel frustrated in a city. You may think about going to some peaceful rural area to live under the shelter of nature. However, before taking any such step, It is important to know the lifestyle of a non-urban area. Purchasing a property there also depends upon your desires, requirements and future goals.

For an easy decision-making process for you, let us discuss the lifestyle of a rural area.

    Pleasing atmosphere:

Generally, there are less commercial or industrial activities in rural areas. So, they are free from traffic and an excessive crowd of people. This also helps to minimize pollution in the atmosphere there. Hence, you will find clean air, pure water and awesome natural beauty everywhere.

    Affordable property:

In most of the cases, you will find a property in rural areas less costly in comparison to cities. There, you can purchase a house of 5 bedrooms including other amenities under the same amount you would otherwise spend to purchase 1 bedroom in a city. It is also easy to buy a vast area of land in a good countryside location.

    More liberation:

In most of the pastoral areas, there is more space to grow. The local state laws are less stringent there. So, you can use the land for building a hut, rearing animals, growing crops etc. easily. If you’re looking for somewhere safer to live, Jeff Stewart from Stewart Realty LLC says that rural areas are less likely than big cities to have deaths resulting from injuries. Following state laws and regulations, you can also rent some property and generate free monthly income.

    Low prices:

The countryside areas have less competition in comparison to cities. Therefore, the prices of commodities are also lower than the rates of different things of daily usage in metropolitan areas. You can also utilize different services such as education, medical, entertainment etc. at a low cost compared to a city.

A feeling of a pastoral lifestyle:

Many people like to live a pastoral life with basic necessities of life. They love a natural environment, fresh air, pure water, plants, animals, forests etc. A village is an ideal place for them to live. Such living conditions can provide them with a great opportunity to live a self-sustainable and peaceful life.

Although, there are lots of benefits living in a village, yet you can not avoid the issues while living there. Some of them are:

    Shortage of public transportation:

In a city, people utilize various methods of transportation to move from one place to another. There are lots of options such as buses, auto rickshaws, cabs etc. But, villagers are devoid of such facilities as the public transportation system is not so developed there. They have to go on foot or use a private vehicle to move from one place to another.

Scarcity of important necessities of life:

In a city, you can enjoy all the basic necessities of life such as electricity, water supply, LPG gas etc. But, in a village, it is difficult to get them easily. Rural inhabitants take water from a well or river for cooking, drinking, washing etc. The purity of this water can be low or sometimes null. Similarly, electricity is normally supplied by some private company there. So, it can be costly or you may have to face the power cut issues. There are also fewer opportunities to go to some entertainment centres, places of recreational activities, amusement parks, cinema, restaurants etc.

    More work to do:

When you purchase land in a rural area you may need to work a lot to live there. If you wish to consume dairy products such as milk, curd, butter etc., you may have to keep animals and look after them. If you plant vegetables or grains, you may have to go into different farming activities. Additionally, there are also other works related to cooking, repairings, washing etc.

    Sewer system issues:

Cities have a more developed sewer system than villages. Homes are hooked to a commercial sewer system to carry wastes away from an abode. But most of the villages are devoid of such facilities. You will find a septic system in most of the areas there. This system is designed to break down solids and the remaining liquid is transferred to some leach field. Such areas are free or have minimum charges of property taxes. This is because municipalities charge money from those house owners whose houses are connected to a commercial sewer system. Thus, you can save this money by purchasing land where the septic system is installed.

Old ways of heating a house:

If you take a tour of some village, you will find people in some houses utilize old methods of heating a building. They generally use oil instead of natural gas to get heat. But, this system has several drawbacks. First, the cost of oil is more than natural gas. Second, this system requires frequent repairs to work properly. Third, this method consumes excessive time and energy over care and maintenance. Whereas, a natural gas system needs repairs only after a long time. So, while purchasing a house in the countryside, it is essential to take care of this point also.

    Fewer employment opportunities:

A city has several industries and companies related to different sectors. Several other small occupations are going on in different parts of it. Hence, there are lots of employment opportunities for everyone. However, due to low economic growth, it is difficult to find a suitable job in a village. Agriculture and animal husbandry are the major occupations of most of the people living there. So, they have to compromise with such types of occupations for their subsistence.

After knowing the ways of living in a village, think deeply about your choice of purchasing a property in rural areas. If it suits your desires, lifestyle and requirements, go for it. But, if you think it would create problems in future, choose to stay in a city.
